Crystal Palace manager Tony Pulis says his side lack experience

Crystal Palace manager Tony Pulis says he will target new signings in the January window after admitting his side lack Premier League experience.

Pulis's first game in charge of Palace ended in a 1-0 defeat at fellow strugglers Norwich, a result that sent the Eagles to the bottom of the table.

Palace are six points from safety after just two wins in 13 league matches.

"We'll try to make one or two changes if we can in the window, someone who can turn the tide," said Pulis.

After failing to score at Norwich, Palace have now been goalless in eight of their 13 matches since returning to the Premier League.

They had their chances at Norwich, particularly after the interval when they enjoyed spells of possession.

But their leading goalscorer in the top-flight this season is Dwight Gayle, with two.

"You have got to take your chances," added Pulis, who has not been relegated in 21 years of management.

"The quality at times, I was very pleased with. But it is going to be tough.

"We have a mountain to climb in a lot of respects, but it is not the first time I have been in this position.

"It's very difficult. I've only had a week. The lads have been fantastic and really worked hard, and they've bought into what we're trying to do.

"They have shown bits and pieces [against Norwich] but you need a bit of quality and you need a bit of Premier League experience to win you these types of games - especially when you are on top for so long in the second half."
