Crewe Alexandra 1-1 Shrewsbury Town

Crewe and Shrewsbury shared the spoils in a hotly-contested 1-1 draw.

Alex took the lead when on-loan QPR striker Tom Hitchcock nodded home from the six-yard line after great work by Mesca Bangna and Chuks Aneke.

The visitors pushed hard for a leveller, with Luke Summerfield twice firing wide before Jon Taylor forced a stunning point-blank save from Crewe keeper Ben Garratt.

Shrewsbury deservedly equalised as Taylor smashed a long ball home.

VIEW FROM THE DRESSING ROOM:

Shrewsbury Town manager Graham Turner told BBC Radio Shropshire:

"To come back from behind a take a point is reasonable. Mixed feelings but I think we have to be pleased with a point away from home - coming from a goal down.

"We didn't deal with their front players - but as we grew into the game we got better. On the occasion when we passed the ball well, we looked a decent threat.

"We should have been better near to their penalty area. Jon Taylor has made a good contribution today - we had chances but confidence was low - on our day we would have finished them."
