Oxford United missed the chance to go top of the League Two table as Reuben Reid struck twice to seal an impressive win for Plymouth Argyle.
Caolan Lavery's long-range strike put the visitors ahead before Asa Hall equalised from outside the area.
Reid put Plymouth in front with a spot-kick after Dave Kitson handled before notching a second from close range.
Oxford were given some late hope when Neal Trotman put the ball into his own net but could not find an equaliser.
