Scottish football begins 2014 with derbies in the Scottish Premiership on New Year's Day.

Partick Thistle make the short trip across Glasgow to face leaders Celtic, who are unbeaten in the league so far this season.

Dundee United host north-east rivals Aberdeen while, at the Caledonian Stadium, Inverness take on Ross County in the Highland derby.

And, on 2 January, there is an Edinburgh derby, Hibernian v Hearts.

St Johnstone's visit to Motherwell on Wednesday and Kilmarnock's clash with St Mirren on Thursday complete the top-flight's midweek card.

Thistle lost out narrowly to Celtic in October and, in the same month, the Dons claimed a 1-0 win over United.

The season's first meeting of County and Inverness was abandoned at half-time due to a power failure. Wednesday's match will be John Hughes' first Highland derby as Inverness manager.

The capital's great rivals have met twice already this term, with Hearts winning 1-0 both in the league and Scottish League Cup. Terry Butcher takes charge of Hibs in an Edinburgh derby for the first time on Thursday.

There will also be matches in the Scottish Championship, League One and League Two on Thursday.
