Fabricio Coloccini: Newcastle defender suffers knee injury
- Published
Newcastle defender Fabricio Coloccini could be out for six weeks after picking up a knee injury in the club's 1-0 loss at West Brom.
The 31-year-old Argentina centre-back came off in the 65th minute of the match with what was later reported as medial ligament damage.
"Not only do we lose Mathieu Debuchy [suspended after a red card] but Colo also looks to have done something to his knee," Pardew said.
"It could be four to six weeks."
Debuchy's dismissal for a two-footed challenge on Claudio Yacob came just three minutes before his centre-back team-mate was forced off. The France full-back faces a three-match suspension.
If Coloccini is out until mid-February, he would miss the Tyne-Wear derby against Sunderland on 1 February.
