Charlie Wyke: AFC Wimbledon sign Middlesbrough striker on loan

League Two side AFC Wimbledon have completed the loan signing of Middlesbrough striker Charlie Wyke.

The 21-year-old, who scored twice in 26 appearances during a loan spell at Hartlepool last season, joins the Dons on an initial one-month deal.

"We looked at Charlie last season and we have monitored him since then," Dons manager Neal Ardley told the club website.

"He comes highly recommended from contacts that we've got in the north."

He added: "Middlesbrough have been very good with us in this deal because it requires hardly any financial outlay.

"Charlie is an out-and-out striker and we can certainly have a look at him during January."

Wyke is eligible to make his debut for Wimbledon in their League Two match at Wycombe on Saturday.
