Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has no intention of selling striker Lewis Grabban during the transfer window.

The 26-year-old has been linked with a move to Championship rivals Brighton,, external but Howe says he wants to keep his best players at the club.

"We have not had any approaches for Lewis, as we speak," Howe told BBC Radio Solent.

"We are aware of the speculation and from my perspective I do not want to lose my best players."

Grabban arrived at Bournemouth in May 2012 in a £300,000 deal from Rotherham and has scored 10 goals in 25 appearances this season.

Howe said the forward was central to his plans for the rest of the season.

"We want to build something here," he added. "And to progress as a football club you need to keep hold of your best players and hopefully we can do that."
