Nigeria and Zimbabwe booked their places in the last four of the African Nations Championship after hard fought victories on Saturday.

Nigeria came back from three goals down to beat Morocco 4-3 after extra-time, whilst Zimbabwe stunned Mali with a 2-1 win.

Nigeria found themselves 3-0 down against Morocco before half-time. Mohsine Moutaouali scored either side of a strike from Iajour Mouhssine in the space of seven minutes to give the Moroccans a commanding lead.

But Ugonna Uzochukwu and Rabiu Ali scored after the break for Nigeria and Ejike Uzoenyi levelled on 90 minutes.

Aliyu Ibrahim was Nigeria's hero, scoring the winner with nine minutes of extra-time left.

In Saturday's late match, Zimbabwe trounced favourites Mali to win 2-1 and book their place in the last four.

In front of a large Zimbabwean crowd, Simbarashe Sithole scored for his southern African side in the 11th minute, and Kudakwashe Mahachi sailed past four defenders 11 minutes into the second half to extend the lead.

Mali played a tight match, but Hamidou Sinayoko's goal a minute from time was not enough.

Zimbabwe's surprise victory earns them a place against the winners of the match between Gabon and Libya's match.

Nigeria will play the winners of the game between Ghana and DR Congo for a place in the final.
