Borussia Dortmund's Jakub Blaszczykowski out for season

Borussia Dortmund winger Jakub Blaszczykowski will miss the rest of the season after suffering cruciate ligament injury during the 2-2 Bundesliga draw with Augsburg.

The Poland captain, 28, went down after a heavy challenge in the second minute of the game.

"I will not roll over that easily," he said. "I will do everything to come back even stronger."

Blaszczykowski has made 22 appearances for third-placed Dortmund this season.

Dortmund are 14 points off top in the Bundesliga but are still in the Champions League and face Zenit St Petersburg next month.
