QPR have signed Fulham defender Aaron Hughes and Desportivo Brazil striker Guilherme Dellatorre.

Experienced centre-back Hughes has signed a short-term deal until the end of the season while Brazilian Dellatorre arrives on loan.

Hughes, 34, moved to Craven Cottage in 2007, external and has made 17 appearances for the Premier League side this season.

Dellatorre, 21, has recently had a spell at Atletico Paranaense where he scored three goals in 19 outings.

Hughes made a total of 196 league appearances for Fulham after joining from Aston Villa.

With right-back Danny Simpson sidelined by injury, R's boss Harry Redknapp says the arrival of the Northern Ireland international gives his squad a welcome boost.

"Aaron's a very experienced player and with the injuries we've suffered lately, he's a fantastic addition," Redknapp said.

"He's got pace, excellent positional sense and is a good out-and-out defender.

"He's a great professional and he'll be a big asset to us."

Front man Dellatorre has also had loan spells with Internacional and FC Porto's B team.

"He's a young player from Brazil, who our scouts have watched and like," Redknapp added.

"I've not been to Brazil to see him play, but he's appeared on the radar and is a young player who is probably one for the future rather than the here and now."
