Alloa Athletic 0-1 Dumbarton

Colin Nish's first-half strike was enough to secure Dumbarton progress to the Scottish Cup quarter-finals at the expense of Alloa Athletic.

The veteran striker tapped home Scott Agnew's cross just after the half-hour mark.

The Sons had another chance to score following goalkeeper Scott Bain's foul on Chris Kane but the latter's spot-kick was saved.

And Scott Linton fired against the Alloa crossbar in the second half.

Ian Murray's side will be in Sunday's draw for the last eight.
