Hereford United 1-2 Macclesfield Town

  • Published

Hereford United slipped to a fourth consecutive Conference Premier defeat as Macclesfield Town claimed all three points at Edgar Street.

George Pilkington scored his second goal in successive games to put Town ahead midway through the first half.

The Silkmen doubled their advantage straight after the break, Danny Andrew crossing for Scott Boden to nod in.

Dominic Collins headed in Dan Walker's late cross to give Hereford hope but they could not find an equaliser.

Macclesfield move up a place to 11th, while Hereford stay in 18th, six points above the relegation places.

Bulls boss Martin Foyle told BBC Hereford and Worcester:

"We've got nothing to blame other than ourselves. The boys are not producing it. The first half was poor, gutless.

"We can have the criticism. The supporters are 100% right. But I'll carry the can.

"My job is to protect the layers. Obviously it's the same ones that we pick up again."
