Martin Foyle: Hereford United manager and assistant leave club

Manager Martin Foyle and his assistant Andy Porter have left Hereford United with immediate effect.

The Bulls currently lie 18th in the Conference Premier, four points above the relegation zone.

On Tuesday, chairman David Keyte revealed the club needed an investment of £300,000 to avoid administration.

Former Oxford United and Port Vale striker Foyle, 50, joined Hereford in May 2012 and led them to sixth place in the table last season.

His last match in charge of Hereford was Tuesday's 2-0 defeat by Wrexham, his former club, who are also looking for a new full-time boss.

Following the game, Foyle told BBC Hereford & Worcester that all of his players would be leaving the club at the end of the season.

The Bulls, who will now be looking for their eighth manager in the space of just five years, have not won for 11 matches, picking up just three points since the end of January.

As well as playing for Port Vale, Foyle has also previously managed the League One club, spending three and a half years in charge at Vale Park.

He later went on to manage York City, guiding the Minstermen to the 2009 FA Trophy final and the 2010 Conference Premier play-off final.

He leaves Hereford having won 33 of his 93 games in charge.
