Portadown stay in third place in the Irish Premiership following a 3-0 win over Warrenpoint Town at Shamrock Park.

All the goals came in the first half with Chris Ramsey opening the scoring, heading home Darren Murray's cross after eight minutes.

Gary Twigg scored a brace on 18 and 30 minutes in an easy win for the Ports.

Portadown goalkeeper David Miskelly saved Stephen Hughes' penalty after 14 minutes and also stopped the rebound shot by Padraig Smith.

Portadown did all the damage in the first half and Twigg's double, coming after Warrenpoint failed to convert the penalty, killed the game as a contest.

Josh Barton got to the goal line and cut the ball back into the path of Twigg who drilled it into an open net after 18 minutes.

Twigg netted his second goal on the half hour after being put through by Sean Mackle.

Warrenpoint failed to make any impact in the second half as they slipped back into second from bottom in the league table.
