Woking 2-1 Alfreton Town

A late comeback from Woking kept their Conference Premier play-off hopes alive and dented Alfreton's own top five ambitions.

John Akinde tapped in early on for his 16th of the season to give the Reds the lead.

Joey Jones levelled for the home side when he headed in John Nutter's free-kick.

Moments later the Cards snatched all three points with Jack Marriott turning and slotting past Jon Worsnop.

The defeat leaves the Reds four points behind Halifax in fifth place, having a played a game more, while Woking find themselves a further two points back.

Woking boss Garry Hill told BBC Surrey:

"It's been a tiring week for us and we have had to play four games in eight days and we are working very hard as a part-time squad.

"We had no complaints being 1-0 down at half-time and we looked flat. I told them to finish the season on a high and dig deep.

"I felt we showed character and thoroughly deserved to win the game in the second half and to turn it around and beat a side after a difficult week it was a great result.

"Certainly you've got to have the energy and the desire from everybody and we had to dig very deep but I am very pleased for the players."
