Tony Pulis: Crystal Palace are safe from Premier League relegation

Crystal Palace manager Tony Pulis declared his side safe from relegation after their 3-2 victory at Everton.

Palace stunned their Champions League-chasing hosts at Goodison Park, with Jason Puncheon, Scott Dann and Cameron Jerome all scoring.

Victory took Palace onto 40 points, which Pulis feels will be enough to secure Premier League survival.

"We are safe now," he said. "To have 40 points with four games to go is remarkable."

Pulis has transformed Palace's fortunes since replacing Ian Holloway in November.

The former Stoke boss has won 11 of his 24 games in charge and gained four successive victories - the first time Palace have achieved that feat in the Premier League since 1994.

Pulis believed keeping the Eagles in the top flight was "right up there" with his greatest achievements in football and something he "will look back on with great satisfaction".

While at Stoke, Pulis had a reputation for restoring to long-ball tactics, but he is pleased with the style of play he has implemented at Palace.

"I have a different type of group to the one I had at Stoke," added Pulis.

"We play through the middle more, we have very quick players and they have different strengths. We have decided on the best way to play and found a system that suits them."

Pulis singled out Dann, Tom Ince, Joe Ledley and Wayne Hennessey as key signings and praised the pace of Puncheon and Yannick Bolasie.
