Inverness manager John Hughes laments missed chances

Inverness Caledonian Thistle boss John Hughes reflected on "two points lost" following the 0-0 draw with Aberdeen.

The Highlanders, who missed the chance to go fourth in the Scottish Premiership, hit the bar through Greg Tansey in the second half.

"We had the better of the chances and were solid at the back," Hughes told BBC Radio Scotland's Sportsound.

"Aberdeen's a far, far bigger club than us and to go out and match them is all credit to our players."

The Dons also struck the goal frame when Niall McGinn fired in a shot in the first half, while Dean Brill made a couple of important saves for Caley.

"Looking at the game, we rode our luck with the one that hit the crossbar and Dean Brill had some saves to make," added Hughes.

"If Billy McKay had scored just before half-time, that could have allowed us to go on and win the game.

"There is room for improvement, but they are a great bunch of guys and they played some good football."
