Coleraine late show stuns lowly Ards

An injury-time goal from Paul Owens gave Coleraine a 1-0 win over Ards at Clandeboye Park.

Coleraine midfielder Ruairi Harkin was denied by keeper Graeme McKibben before Neil Dougan twice went close for Ards late in the first half.

The basement club almost went ahead when Ross Arthurs hit a post but Owens found the net with a sweet strike in the dying seconds.

The win takes Coleraine clear of the relegation play-off place.

Dougan flashed a shot wide in the first half before he failed to connect with a cross at the backpost.

There was a lengthy delay in the second half when Coleraine substitute William Wright was stretchered off with concussion.
