Mallards and Swifts share Ferney Park spoils

Ballinamallard United slipped to 11th in the Irish Premiership after a 2-2 draw with Dungannon at Ferney Park.

Jason McCartney headed in to give the Mallards a first-half lead at Ferney Park before Matt Hazley levelled with a 25-yard free-kick.

A looping header from Andrew Burns made it 2-1 to the visitors before Liam Martin curled in the equaliser.

Championship results on Tuesday night mean the Mallards will avoid a possible relegation play-off.

Mallards keeper Feargal Murphy kept out Jamie Tomelty's shot when the midfielder was clear on goal before McCartney scored the opener on 37 minutes.

Hazley equalised seven minutes into the second half and two goals in two minutes left it 2-2.

Dungannon came close to clinching all three points with Gary Liggett's effort cleared off the line before Burns mis-kicked when well placed.
