League One side Crawley Town have signed veteran Bury goalkeeper Brian Jensen on a free transfer.

The 38-year-old made 39 appearances for the Shakers in 2013-14, having moved to Gigg Lane last September following a 10-year spell at Burnley.

Jensen, who becomes Crawley's second signing of the summer after Jimmy Smith, has signed a one-year deal.

"Brian is still a superb goalkeeper who is in fantastic physical condition," Reds boss John Gregory said.

"He is a real presence in the penalty area and a character who will be great in the dressing room."

Gregory said the Dane will also assume some coaching responsibilities at the club.

"He is keen to carry on the coaching work he started last season at Bury but first and foremost he wants to carry on playing," the 60-year-old said.

"I have spoken to a lot of managers and people in the game about Brian and without exception they have all spoken very highly of him. We're delighted to have him with us."
