Lewis Hawkins signs new Hartlepool United deal

Hartlepool United midfielder Lewis Hawkins has signed a new contract at Victoria Park, with terms undisclosed.

Hawkins, 20, made a career-high five appearances from the substitutes bench for Pools last season in addition to playing in the reserves.

"I've been working hard and I ended up getting a few substitute appearances last season," Middlesbrough-born Hawkins told the club website.

"Now I want to make sure I come back fit and hopefully play some more."
