Galatasaray have announced the departure of manager Roberto Mancini after just nine months in the job.

The Turkish club said the 48-year-old Italian, who guided Manchester City to the Premier League title in 2011-12, had departed by mutual consent.

Mancini led Galatasaray to second place in their domestic league, and the last 16 of the Champions League.

In a statement, the club thanked Mancini for his efforts and wished him "happiness in his next mission".

Mancini took charge at Galatasaray in September following the departure of Fatih Terim, whose third term as coach ended when he rejected a contract extension.

And their Turkish Cup victory over Eskisehirspor in May means the former Inter Milan, Fiorentina and Lazio boss has won a trophy with all five clubs he has managed.

Mancini joined Manchester City in 2009 after winning three Serie A titles as Inter coach.

He won the FA Cup in his second season at the club, ending City's 35-year trophy drought, before masterminding their dramatic title success 12 months later.

But a year to the day after winning the title, Mancini was sacked, with the club saying he had only achieved one of their targets for 2012-13.
