Tranmere Rovers: Michael Ihiekwe signs after Wolves departure

Michael Ihiekwe came through the youth system at Liverpool before joining Wolves
Relegated Tranmere Rovers have signed defender Michael Ihiekwe on a two-year contract following the 21-year-old's departure from Wolves.
Ihiekwe did not make a first-team appearance for the Molineux club.
But he does have experience of League Two, playing 13 times during a loan spell with Cheltenham Town last season.
"He's very quick, he reads the game well and is a player with lots of potential," Rovers manager Rob Edwards told the club website., external
"He's ambitious to play at a higher level and hopefully he will achieve that aim with us."
Ihiekwe added: "I'm very happy to be here. The manager has told me about his plans and they made me excited to join. I'm looking forward to working with him."
