Chris Brown: Blackburn Rovers 'offer deal' to Doncaster striker
- Published
Incoming joint-Doncaster owner John Ryan says forward Chris Brown has been offered a deal to sign for Blackburn.
The 29-year-old striker has been with Doncaster since 2011 and scored nine goals in 43 appearances last season.
Ryan told BBC Radio Sheffield: "We have unfortunately lost (Mark) Duffy and Chris Brown as they had to take a 50% wage cut.
"Chris Brown has been offered 10 grand a week by Blackburn, you can't compete with that."
Brown began his career as a trainee at Sunderland and had loan spells at Doncaster and Hull, before a move to Norwich for £325,000 in January 2007.
A year later he joined Preston and signed for Doncaster on a free transfer in July 2011.
