Preston North End have signed striker Jordan Hugill from League One rivals Port Vale for an undisclosed fee.
The 22-year-old, who rejected the offer of a new contract with the Valiants earlier this month, has joined the Lilywhites on a two-year deal.
Hugill scored five goals - four as a substitute - in his only season with Port Vale after arriving from non-league Marske United.
He also netted five goals in seven games on loan at Gateshead.
"He's not a household name, but what he is, he's going to be competition for the squad," Preston manager Simon Grayson told the club website., external
"He's young, he's raring to go, hungry, he's a strong, powerful player, and he's got many attributes that will help us along the way this season and complement the squad well."
