Dynamo Moscow have completed the signing of Manchester United left-back Alexander Buttner for an initial fee of £4.4m that could rise to £5.6m.

The Dutchman, 25, who has signed a three-year-deal, has already linked up with his new club.

Buttner joined United from Vitesse Arnhem in 2012 but made only 13 Premier League appearances in two seasons.

"I want to play in the Champions League and win trophies. Dynamo are building a very strong team," said Buttner.

"I am sure that we will be good enough to try to win the league title this season."

Dynamo Moscow will play in the Europa League after finishing in fourth in the Russian league last season.

While Buttner leaves Old Trafford, England left-back Luke Shaw has joined Manchester United from Southampton for £27m, rising to £31m depending on performance. The 18-year-old has agreed a four-year contract with United, with an option to extend for a further year.

Fellow left-back Patrice Evra, 33, signed a one-year contract extension last month.

Shaw is United's second major summer recruit - and second in as many days - after they signed Spain midfielder Ander Herrera, 24, from Athletic Bilbao for a fee believed to be £29m.
