Henshall made 16 appearances for the England Under-17s

Ipswich Town have signed winger Alex Henshall on a two-year deal following his release by Manchester City.

The 20-year-old spent the final month of last season on loan at the Championship side, but failed to make an appearance.

City brought in Henshall from hometown club Swindon in June 2010.

The England Under-17 international never played for the Premier League club, but has featured for Chesterfield and Bristol Rovers during loan spells.
