West Brom have appointed Mervyn Day head of recruitment as they continue an overhaul of their backroom team.
The 59-year-old was head of scouting and recruitment at Championship side Brighton until the end of last season.
He will start immediately and his arrival follows the Baggies recruitment of head coach Alan Irvine and technical director Terry Burton this summer.
"It is an exciting challenge and the infrastructure is here to go on to bigger and better things," said Day.
Day has previous Premier League experience as assistant manager to Alan Curbishley at Charlton and West Ham.
"He is well respected in the game, and scouts who have worked under him speak highly of him as a man of integrity and trust," said Burton.
"He comes here with a wealth of experience and knowledge and will undoubtedly help us identify players and improve our recruitment processes.
"Our aim is to de-risk the signing of new players."
