Luton Town have signed defender Paul Connolly on a free transfer following his departure from Crawley Town.

The 30-year-old former Plymouth trainee has signed an initial one-year contract with the League Two newcomers.

Connolly, who can play at right-back or centre-back, also had a spell at Championship side Millwall last season.

He featured four times for the Lions and then joined the Reds in February, going on to make seven appearances for the West Sussex club.

"It's one of the biggest clubs in the league so it's a no-brainer," Connolly told the club website., external

"I'm at the stage of my career where I wanted to be playing for a club that is moving in the right direction and not just sitting still."
