Plymouth Argyle have signed goalkeeper James Bittner on a one-year contract.

Bittner was a player-coach at Salisbury last season but has left the ailing non-league club after they were thrown out of the Conference for financial reasons last week.

The 32-year-old has previously had spells with Bournemouth, Exeter, Torquay, Forest Green and Hereford.

He will compete for a place in Argyle's first team with current first-choice keeper Luke McCormick.
