Women's Continental Cup: Chelsea progress with 13-0 victory

Rachel Williams hit a hat-trick as Chelsea demolished London Bees 13-0 to reach the Continental Cup semi-finals.

Blues pipped holders Arsenal to top spot in Group One on goal difference, though the Gunners also progressed by beating Millwall Lionesses 4-0.

Group Two winners Manchester City and Notts County, who finished top of Group Three, complete the semi-final line-up.

City concluded their group campaign with a 3-0 victory at Durham, while the Magpies won 4-0 against Yeovil Town.

Continental Cup Group One

Arsenal 7-0 London Bees

On-loan Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Turid Knaak scored twice as Arsenal cruised to a convincing victory on Thursday night.

First-half goals from Freda Ayisi, Germany Under-23 international Knaak and Casey Stoney put the Gunners in control.

And second-half strikes from Danielle Carter and Knaak plus Alex Scott's double wrapped up a big win.

Casey Stoney was among the scorers as Arsenal won their last two group games by a combined 11-0 scoreline

Chelsea 13-0 London Bees

Three days after losing 7-0 to Arsenal, the Bees conceded six more in another thumping defeat.

Williams netted a hat-trick, while Ji So-Yun, Drew Spence and Jackie Groenen scored two apiece.

The other goals came from Ana Borges, on her home debut after signing from Atletico Madrid, Emma Wilhelmsson, Laura Coombs and Atlanta Primus.

Blues started the game with a goal difference five inferior to Arsenal, but made light of the task of overtaking their London rivals to finish top.

Millwall Lionesses 0-4 Arsenal

Arsenal had to settle for second place in Group One, but reached the semi-finals as the best runner-up in the three groups.

The Gunners led 3-0 at half-time, with Niamh Fahey, Carter and Leah Williamson on target.

Carter added her second after the break to keep the holders in line to lift the Continental Cup for a fourth successive season.

Reading v Watford

Watford were awarded the three points for this fixture after Reading were disqualified for fielding an ineligible player in their 8-1 win against London Bees.

Continental Cup Group Two

Durham 0-3 Manchester City

Manchester City eased to a fourth consecutive Continental Cup win to top the group, two points ahead of both Liverpool and Everton.

Jill Scott's late strike clinched victory after Krystle Johnston and Toni Duggan scored in the first half.

Liverpool 3-2 Doncaster Rovers Belles

Liverpool finished second on goal difference, but only after surviving a spirited comeback by the Belles.

The Reds were three up at half-time thanks to a Natasha Dowie double and a further goal from Amanda Da Costa.

But the WSL champions were left hanging on in the closing stages after Bethany England and Jess Sigsworth scored for the visitors.

Sunderland 0-2 Everton

Nikita Parris and Lauren Davies scored as the Toffees beat a Sunderland side who played for more than 45 minutes with 10 players.

After Parris put the visitors in front, Sunderland had Abby Holmes sent off for a foul shortly before the interval.

Davies wrapped up victory with a late goal.

Continental Cup Group Three

Yeovil Town 0-4 Notts County

Jess Clarke continued to show the form that has earned her a return to the England squad as she scored twice in a comfortable away victory.

Dunia Susi scored either side of half-time before Clarke's double - taking her to 12 goals in as many games - to ensure undefeated County finished as group winners.

Birmingham City 0-5 Bristol Academy

Bristol also ended their group campaign unbeaten, but finished two points behind the Magpies.

Spaniard Natalia hit a hat-trick and strike partner Natasha Harding scored the other goals in a comfortable victory.

Blues led the table after winning their first three matches, but were well beaten in their final two games.

Aston Villa 1-0 Oxford United

A Carly Davies penalty gave Villa a narrow but deserved first win that also brought their first points of the group stage.

Oxford, beaten for the fifth time in succession, finished bottom with no points.
