Coleraine and Portadown created plenty of openings but both failed to find the net in the Premiership encounter.

Ports midfielder Sean Mackle fired wide early on before Ian Parkhill headed off-target for the hosts.

David Miskelly produced a double-save to deny Coleraine pair Ruairi Harkin and Shane McGinty.

Ports defender Keith O'Hara was sent-off on 86 minutes before Coleraine striker Gary Browne shot wide from the game's best chance in injury-time.

Joe McNeill was first to go close for Coleraine with the midfielder blasting over from 20 yards.

It was a night when the goalkeepers shone with Coleraine's Michael Doherty making excellent saves to keep out a low shot from Mark McAllister and Gary Breen's header.

Ports striker Darren Murray went close despite his team being down to 10 men after O'Hara's dismissal, in a game which also saw 11 yellow cards.

Browne could have snatched a dramatic winner with the last kick of the match but he missed the target.

Coleraine move above Dungannon Swifts into ninth place while Portadown remain fourth but close the gap on leaders Ballymena to three points.
