Mesut Ozil: Arsenal's Germany midfielder out of Argentina friendly

Mesut Ozil was in Germany's starting line-up for the World Cup final victory over Argentina in July

Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil will miss Germany's friendly with fellow World Cup finalists Argentina on Wednesday because of an ankle injury.

The 25-year-old picked up the knock in the closing minutes of Arsenal's 1-1 draw at Leicester City last Sunday.

The world champions start their 2016 European Championship qualification campaign against Scotland on Sunday.

"There's work being done so he can play against Scotland," Germany team manager Oliver Bierhoff said.
