Peterborough have signed Hartlepool striker Luke James on a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

The 19-year-old scored 20 goals in 98 appearances for Pools having begun his career at Victoria Park and was the club's youngest ever goal scorer at the age of 17 in January 2012.

He made his debut in December 2011 but put in a transfer request last month.

"We have had to be patient, but we have used our experience from other deals in this transfer."

He joins former Pools players Christian Burgess and Jack Baldwin at Posh.
