Wolverhampton Wanderers have signed former Manchester City defender George Swan until Christmas.

Swan, who will be 20 on Friday, was released by the Premier League club in the summer and has since been a part of Wolves Under-21 squad.

"He has had a lot of injuries in a young career so far," Wolves head coach Kenny Jackett told the club website., external

"We want to give him that platform now to get over those injuries and see if he can come through it."

The centre-back scored in the 1-0 victory for the Under-21s against Bolton and Swan is set to continue his development at that level.

Jackett added: "We are giving him a window-to-window opportunity where we can work really hard with him, to stay fit and play, and after that try to build up his overall fitness to do justice to the considerable amount of talent that he has.

"He wants to play and get on the ball and is good in both boxes. It will be interesting to see how he develops over the next few months."
