Cardiff City: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer prepared to juggle team

The last meeting between Cardiff and Norwich was in the Premier League in February - the Bluebirds won 2-1

Cardiff City manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says he is prepared to keep changing his team if necessary.

The Bluebirds meet one of the other Championship promotion favourites, Norwich City, on Saturday.

Should Solskjaer hand a debut to defender Bruno Ecuele Manga, he will have continued to change his starting 11 for every game this season.

"Over a long season you don't have a best 11... it's all about being ready," said the Bluebirds boss.

Gabon international Manga was bought for £5m from French club Lorient on transfer deadline day.

Following Cardiff's relegation from the Premeir League last season there was a big overhaul of the squad, with high profile departures such as Gary Medel to Inter Milan, Steven Caulker to Queens Park Rangers and Fraizer Campell to Leicester City.

Solskjaer was also very busy in the transfer market, with his summer signings reaching double digits.

Reading pair Adam Le Fondre and Sean Morrison and Norwich City's Anthony Pilkington were just a few of the new faces at the Cardiff City Stadium.

"When it comes to the period now when we really need points, of course it's going to be important that I pick the right 11," said former Manchester United striker Solskjaer.

"[It is] not about being the best 11 all the time - play 11 Ronaldos, but that does not work does it."

Meanwhile, Cardiff City's new captain David Marshall says the team is aiming for automatic promotion back to the Premier League.

Marshall, who was named the club's captain following Mark Hudson's departure, said the team want to at least be back in the play-off places by the time the next international break comes in early October.

"Our aim at the start of the season was to finish in the top two," said the Scotland keeper.
