Irish Premiership: Dungannon Swifts 2-2 Crusaders

Crusaders hit two late goals - including a controversial injury-time penalty - to snatch a draw against Dungannon in the Premiership encounter.

All the goals came in the second half as two Jamie Douglas goals appeared to have put the Swifts in firm control.

However, Jordan Owens pulled a goal back for the Crues on 72 minutes before the late penalty drama.

Swifts player Francis Brennan was adjudged to have handled and Diarmuid O'Carroll blasted past Andy Coleman.

There were a couple of half chances in the first half with Gavin White testing Swifts keeper Coleman and Jamie Glackin and Gary Liggett firing wide with speculative efforts at the other end.

However, the pace picked up considerably after the break as Douglas curled a delightful shot past Sean O'Neill to put the Swifts ahead on 49 minutes.

Douglas then doubled the Dungannon lead on 60 as he headed home after a pinpoint Glackin cross.

The sense that it was not going to be Crusaders's day increased when Chris Morrow rattled the Dungannon woodwork with a fierce shot on 66 minutes.

But O'Neill kept Crusaders in the game with a brilliant save to deny Glackin on 70 and the visitors gave themselves a lifeline two minutes later as Owens stabbed home from close range after an O'Carroll cross.

Colin Coates wasted a chance to level for Crusaders on 79 but Terry Fitzpatrick should have put the match to bed a minute from time as he blazed a glorious chance over the bar.

The miss was punished in injury-time as referee Andrew Davey adjudged that Brennan had handled as O'Carroll held his nerve to secure a point for the Crues.
