Leeds United: Massimo Cellino 'will not be influenced' by agents

Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino has said the club's search for a new head coach will not be influenced by agents.

Cellino sacked Dave Hockaday last month after just six games as boss.

Academy boss Neil Redfearn is in caretaker charge of the club but the Italian has hinted that he will not be given the job on a full-time basis.

"We have people that we want to speak to about the head coach position, but this will not be done through agents," he told the club website.

"Leeds United is a big club and there are many people who want to be the head coach, but we have to make the right decision for Leeds United. We are working hard to make the right choice."

Former Leeds strikers Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Robbie Fowler were both linked with the role last week, while ex-Argentina coach, and one-time Leeds midfielder, Alejandro Sabella is also rumoured to be interested in the vacancy.

The Elland Road side, who travel to Bournemouth on Tuesday, are currently 19th in the Championship.
