Plymouth Argyle: Ben Purrington out with broken wrist

Plymouth Argyle left-back Ben Purrington is waiting to see if he needs an operation after breaking his wrist in the 1-0 loss at Accrington.

The 18-year-old was stretchered off late on in the defeat with his arm heavily strapped and has broken a number of bones in his wrist.

The game was only Purrington's second start of the season for the Pilgrims.

Purrington signed a new contract in the summer to keep him at Home Park until the end of the 2015-16 season.

Meanwhile, Argyle manager John Sheridan said his side were "not good enough" after the defeat at Accrington.

The Pilgrims have lost three of their last four games to leave them 14th in League Two.

"I accept it's not good enough. We've lost the game and it's a game we definitely should have won, but we haven't," Sheridan told BBC Devon.

"We've got to stay strong and believe in what we're doing, but we've been beaten 1-0."

Sheridan said he felt his side had played well at times, forcing 15 corners and taking 14 shots, five more than the hosts.

"We looked a good team and the game was there for the taking," he added. "I want them to push each other a bit more and think they can get out of this league, that's all I'm asking for from them.

"We've got to pick ourselves up, we're making life very tough at the moment. I'm very frustrated and I know the fans are frustrated because they come to support us and to see us win.

"We've got to stick together and work very hard to win football matches and get back to winning ways."
