Tom Barkhuizen: Morecambe sign Blackpool striker on loan

Barkhuizen scored twice in 15 appearances for Blackpool last season

Morecambe have signed striker Tom Barkhuizen from Championship club Blackpool on a month's loan.

The 21-year-old, who came through the youth system at Bloomfield Road, has yet to make a first-team appearance under Jose Riga this season.

Barkhuizen has previously spent time on loan at Hereford and Fleetwood.

"He is someone with pace who has an eye for goal and I am sure he will be a good addition to our squad," manager Jim Bentley told the club website.

Barkhuizen will go straight into the Morecambe squad for Saturday's game at Burton Albion.
