Peterborough 1-2 Scunthorpe

Scunthorpe climbed off the bottom of League One with victory at stuttering Peterborough.

The visitors took the lead when Luke Williams evaded two Posh tackles before poking past keeper Ben Alnwick.

The hosts levelled after the break when Conor Washington capitalised on a poor clearance by Iron keeper Sam Slocombe.

Ricardo Santos deflected an Isaiah Osbourne effort into his own goal to give Scunthorpe their first win under Mark Robins.

Scunthorpe boss Mark Robins told BBC Radio Humberside:

"They were slightly under par, but I thought we were excellent. I thought at times we passed it ok and I thought at times we defended really well when we needed to.

"You try and play the game, and what the game gives you, and the game gave us little opportunity to break out and also plenty of time to defend.

"There's no hiding away from the fact that they go all out to score goals.

"I've got no complaints about the group because whatever I get from them is their maximum."
