Bristol Rovers stayed in the play-off zone and Alfreton remained in the relegation places after both sides cancelled each other out.

Paul Clayton had a first-half effort ruled out for the hosts for offside, but after the break Rovers' Matty Taylor and Lee Brown both came close.

Tom Parkes forced Alfreton goalkeeper Cameron Dawson into a good save but the visitors could not find the net.

Rovers are now unbeaten in their last six Conference away matches.

Bristol Rovers defender Tom Parkes told BBC Radio Bristol:

"We thought we should have got a win but we've got a point and it was a tough place to come.

"I had a chance and they were lucky that the keeper saved it to keep them in the game.

"You could tell after five minutes of the first half that they were slowing it down and it was frustrating us.

"But we worked hard and had chances, but we were unlucky it didn't go our way."
