Dagenham & Redbridge 0-0 Southport

Conference side Southport earned a first-round replay against Dagenham & Redbridge after a hard-fought goalless draw in the FA Cup at Victoria Road.

The Daggers had the better of the chances, but failed to find a way to breach a stubborn defence.

Jamie Cureton's header deflected wide for the hosts before Luke Howell was off target from close range.

Southport had chances of their own but Richard Brodie was denied twice by Daggers goalkeeper Mark Cousins.

The two sides will meet on Tuesday week (18th November 19.45 GMT) for a replay at Haig Avenue.

Dagenham and Redbridge manager Wayne Burnett told BBC London 94.9:

Wayne Burnett: Dagenham boss on Southport draw

"People would expect us to be beating Southport, we've had 15 shots at their goal, not managed to score any of them.

"I don't think we got flowing quickly enough. We didn't get into our rhythm, there was no fluency about our game.

"Once we started moving the ball a bit in the second half we got into better positions, but we didn't capitalise."
