Weston-Super-Mare's FA Cup first round tie against League One Doncaster fell victim to the weather as the match was postponed after a pitch inspection.
Referee Tim Robinson called the game off 21 minutes before the scheduled kick-off time after deciding parts of the pitch were unplayable.
The Conference South side are looking to repeat their feat of 2003-04, when they got as far as the second round., external
No new date has yet been agreed for the tie to be played.
But Weston midfielder Jacob Cane, suspended for Saturday's game, may now have a chance of being involved.
Following the postponement, Doncaster manager Paul Dickov told BBC Sport: "I'm disappointed. We prepared for the game and we were ready to play. We have to respect the referee's decision, but we felt if it was going to be called off, it could have been done earlier.
"I remember playing in a lot worse than that. You just get on with it.
"The referee tried everything to get the game on. But at 10:30 GMT this morning, when the rain started coming down, perhaps that was the time to make the decision. I can understand the frustration of our fans. They've spent a lot of money and time to come down."
