Murray took over as Pools boss in late October

League Two strugglers Hartlepool United have signed striker Scott Fenwick from non-league side Dunston UTS on an undisclosed-length deal.

Fenwick, 20, has been on trial at Pools and scored twice for the reserves in midweek but is cup-tied for the FA Cup visit of East Thurrock on Saturday.

He is a former Middlesbrough, Newcastle and Sunderland academy player.

"He's got a good pedigree and his goalscoring record speaks for itself," said Pools boss Paul Murray.

"I've worked closely with him in training and the thing I have noticed is that he very rarely misses so I'm delighted to have him here."

Pools are bottom of League Two, with just three wins from 16 this term.

Last week, new boss Murray signed Nicky Featherstone and Sidney Schmeltz.
