Matty James: Leicester City not out of place in Premier League

Midfielder Matty James says there is no need for Leicester City to fret, despite dropping into the relegation zone following a five-game winless run.

City slipped into the Premier League's bottom three after Sunderland's victory over Crystal Palace on Monday.

But James told BBC East Midlands Today: "We don't look out of place.

"We have been a little unlucky at times but we have to create our own luck. In certain games we have managed the games wrong but we are learning from it."

Leicester's last win was the incredible 5-3 success against Manchester United, a result that took them up to seventh place.

James joined Leicester from Manchester United in 2012 for an undisclosed fee

But the Foxes, who travel to face second-place Southampton on Saturday, lost four of their next five games.

James, 23, said: "The expectations might have been raised because of the start we had and the result we had against Manchester United.

"But the key thing for the players and staff is to survive. We have to up our performances and turn things around.

"It's fine margins. There have been one or two individual errors and we have not taken our chances at the other end. We have to make sure when we do get an opportunity we take it and then defend better."
