AC Milan have drawn five of their 11 Serie A matches this season.

AC Milan's winless streak stretched to four matches but a penalty secured them a draw at third-placed Sampdoria.

Milan's Stephan El Shaarawy brilliantly curled in his first league goal for 622 days for the opener.

Stefano Okaka flicked in an equaliser for Sampdoria just before half time and Brazilian forward Eder put the hosts ahead soon after the restart.

Jeremy Menez's spot kick, after Djamel Mesbah handled, levelled matters before Daniele Bonera was sent off for Milan.

The defender received a second yellow card for blocking striker Stefano Okaka with five minutes remaining.

Sampdoria, who have lost just once this season, moved within two points of second-place Roma and five adrift of leaders Juventus.

Milan's Chelsea loanee striker Fernando Torres came off the substitutes bench in the second half but was unable to add to his solitary goal since moving to Italy in the summer.
