Hartlepool United have signed Newcastle United striker Adam Campbell on a one-month loan deal.

The 19-year-old recently spent time on loan with League One side Fleetwood, making four appearances.

He made his debut for the Magpies against Atromitos in the Europa League at the age of 17.

Pools also added unattached former Doncaster goalkeeper Jon Maxted, 21, on an undisclosed-length deal after a trial, as cover for Scott Flinders.

Both players are likely to go straight into the squad for Saturday's home match against fellow League Two strugglers York City.
