Dunfermline Athletic 4-2 Ayr United

Allan Smith scored twice as Dunfermline secured a fifth Scottish League One home win of the season.

Andy Stirling fired the Pars in front on 19 minutes and Smith soon made it two.

Scott McLaughlin pulled one back, finding the top corner with a sweetly-struck shot but Shaun Byrne replied in kind with another fine effort.

Ayr responded again through an Alan Forrest shot but Dunfermline were back in control as Smith added his second.
