Birmingham City: Blues more 'solid' under Rowett, says Caddis

Birmingham City defender Paul Caddis says that Blues' revival under new boss Gary Rowett is down to a renewed sense of team solidarity.

Blues have won three times in five games, and conceded just two goals in an unbeaten start to life under Rowett.

But Caddis insists that the improvement in their defending is as a team.

"It's not just down to the back four. Keeping clean sheets is down to the front players too," he told BBC WM.

"The manager's got confidence in us and we're feeling a lot more confident. We're just going out enjoying our football again.

"The manager's been on the training ground working with us and showing us the way he wants us to play."

Caddis's late penalty winner in Saturday's deserved 2-1 home victory over Nottingham Forest lifted Birmingham to 17th in the table.

While they remain closer to the relegation zone - four points above Brighton in 22nd spot - than they are to the play-offs - nine points adrift of Blackburn in sixth - Caddis believes there could be more to come.

"Hopefully, we can just keep it going," he added. "But we'll only do that if we keep working hard."
